Chinmayi Sripada Criticizes Kamal Haasan For Attending Me Too Accused Vairamuthu`s Book Launch Event

This time, it is the Tamil film industry that stirs up some steamy debate. Popular singer Chinmayi Sripada criticized veteran actor Kamal Haasan for ciming in support of the Me Too accused Vairamuthu.
Vairamuthu is a renowned lyricist in the Tamil film industry and has recently launched his book, Maha Kavithai. The event was attended by some prominent names like Kamal Haasan, Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin, and former finance minister P Chidambaram.
Amidst this, the singer spoke about how powerful politicians are normalizing sexual harassment.
Chinmayi Sripada takes a dig at Kamal Haasan
Taking it to X (formerly known as Twitter), the singer wrote a long, heartfelt note about how powerful politicians and actors are platforming the molestor and supporting the Me Too accused, Vairamuthu.Chinmayi's tweet read, "Some of the most powerful men in Tamil Nadu platformed my molester while I got bannedmdashyears of my career lost. May the entire ecosystem that promotes and supports sex offenders while incarcerating honest people who speak up start getting destroyed from this very moment onwards and beyond. I'll pray and keep praying until my wish comes true there is nothing else I can do anyway."

In another post, Chinmayi shared pictures from the book launch with several politicians, including those around Vairamuthu, and questioned the justice system.

She further added, "Just check the number of politicians with Vairamuthu alone. How does one get justice in this ecosystem?"
According to a report by Times Now, the singer wrote in a previous post, "I hope the whole world understands how some of the most powerful men enable my molester, who also used his closeness to the party to silence and threaten me and other women he molested. And I got banned from working."
Chinmayi Sripada on Kamal Haasan's political stance
The singer called out the veteran actor when he came in support of the Indian wrestlers who are protesting against BJP MP Brij Bhushan Singh for sexual harassment. In the same post, Chinamyi asked Kamal why he wasn't speaking up against lyricist Vairamuthu.For the untold, Chinmayi Sripada accused the lyricist of sexual harassment in 2018. At the peak of the Me Too movement, the singer accused Vairamuthu of his inappropriate behavior with her.
She even shared several accounts of women who have been victims of such intolerant behavior by the lyricist.
