Is Border 3 Happening? Bhushan Kumar Reveals Plans About War Drama Franchise

The internet and box office is buzzing with phenomenal success of Border 2. The Republic Day long weekend saw a monstrous response for the Sunny Deol-led war drama, instilling a patriotic feeling with a touch of nostalgia.
With Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty in prominent roles, Border 2 became the first blockbuster of the year. Now, the makers have revealed plans of making a third instalment of the war drama.
Reacting to the buzz, producer Bhushan Kumar opened up on the future of the superhit franchise and dropped a major hint.
Is Border 3 happening?
Anurag Singh, who directed the recent release, opened up on the plans of the third instalment along with Kumar. They revealed they were working on a different film, and they will now get back on track.

'We are doing a joint venture with his company and my company. He'll be directing, and it will be something new. Border 3 will happen in due course,' said Bhushan.
Adding more on the possibility of Border 3, the producer shared, "Obviously, it is such a big franchise. Anurag has worked so hard to rebuild it. If you bring something back after almost 30 years and it is getting so much love, we will definitely take it forward."
Border 2 has been receiving a raving response at the box office. According to tracking site Sacknilk, the film has already earned 177 crore in India, while the worldwide collection stands at 247 crore in just four days.

The war drama is a sequel to JP Dutta's 1997 cult classic, Border. Set against the backdrop of the 1971 India-Pakistan war, the emotionally charged movie has a stellar ensemble.
Headlined by Sunny Deol, the film also sees Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty in leading roles. Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, and Anya Singh play female leads.
The film is backed by Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Dutta. Border 2 released on January 23 and is successfully running in cinemas near you.
