Legendary Superstar Chiranjeevi Talks About His Determination and Humiliation With Vijay Deverakonda

On Sunday evening, the Telugu Digital Media Federation (DMF) hosted an event called 'Original Day' in Hyderabad. The event was attended by Telugu influencers as well as Tollywood actors Vijay Deverakonda and Chiranjeevi, who took to the stage to talk about their lives, careers, success, and determination. Legendary veteran actor Chiranjeevi shared various insights into the early days of his career, in particular talking about an incident that made him determined to reach the position he's in today.

Recalling an incident, Chiranjeevi shared that he was once humiliated in the early days of his career. The actor stated, 'I was working with prominent actors like Jagayya and Sarada, apart from numerous juniors. One day I was shouted at on the sets. They asked me, 'Do you think you're a superstar? I felt humiliated it wasn't right to be spoken to like that.'The actor said it proved to be a turning point in his life, as he set his sights on becoming a superstar one day. He said, 'But that was the day I decided I was going to be a superstar. I used that incident to fuel my ambition. Only I know how hard I've worked to be here today.'

Chiranjeevi went on to narrate the journey of his success to Vijay. He even credited his success to his favourite god, Lord Hanuman. Chiranjeevi recounted, 'That imagination didn't happen in a single day. I used to see some images in my mind all the time. I used to act in dramas in school and college, for which I won the best actor award. People used to recognise me and praise me. I used to feel very proud. This recognition gave me a desire. I learned that celebrities get a lot of attention. I continued to work towards my dream and prayed to my favourite God, Lord Hanuman. As I believed in myself, I made it big in the industry. I knew that I would achieve such a status.'

Chiranjeevi talks about his entry into the film industry and early days
The 'Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy' actor shared that the beginning of his career was a beautiful combination of luck and chance. He said that he felt lucky to get back to back work in the early days. Chiranjeevi shared, 'I accompanied my friend Sudhakar, who wanted to turn down a role in Punadhirallu. When he turned it down, I was asked if I wanted to do it. But I was also sceptical because I was still studying at the Madras Film Institute. But they convinced me, and I dropped out.'Over the course of his career, Chiranjeevi has acted in more than one hundred and fifty films. The actor was recently awarded the Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian award in the country. In 2006, Chiranjeevi was honoured with the Padma Bhushan, the third-highest national civilian award, for his contribution to the film industry. The actor will next be seen in Vishwambhara, a Telugu film expected to release sometime in 2025.
