If Bollywood relationships, especially exes, do not create controversy, are they even really relationships? Speaking of controversy, Ranvir Shorey has the internet shaking and quaking after he opened up about the fiasco between him and Mahesh Bhatt's daughter, Pooja Bhatt.
Back in the day, Ranvir Shorey and Pooja Bhatt were dating. He had great regard for the filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. However, it was not until a fiasco happened that he lost all respect for the two.
In a podcast interview with ANI host Smita Prakash, the Khosla Ka Ghosla actor opened up about his past relationships, politics in Bollywood, and everything in between.
Ranvir Shorey and Pooja Bhatt fiasco
The two dated for quite some time before the actress married Manish Makhija. They were in a live-in setup. However, both Ranvir and Pooja called it quits after things went downhill.Some reports even called their relationship an 'abusive' one. In 2020, Ranvir Shorey replied to reports that called his and Pooja's relationship troublesome.
He took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and wrote, 'These kinds of articles are the result of the sustained defamatory and malicious PR campaign that these film moguls have targeted me with for years! None of the media will bother to fact-check old police and media records that will show that it was I who was abused by them.'
The Tiger 3 actor also responded to another tweet about the actress's husband, Manish Makhija, who once happened to be his best friend.

His tweet read, 'This guy in the photos used to be my best friend right up until after the incident, and then he turned around and married her. All kinds of relationships are manipulated, and psychological warfare is used.'
On the ANI podcast interview with Smita Prakash, the Sonchiriya actor opened up about his equation with Pooja Bhatt and Mahesh Bhatt. He recalled having massive respect for the filmmaker, but it turned out to be manipulative.
"I had great regard for Mr. Bhatt (Mahesh Bhatt) till the fiasco happened when I was seeing his daughter (Pooja Bhatt). Then I saw that actually whatever respect I had for him was being used to manipulate me... very duplicitous behavior going on," the actor said.
Ranvir Shorey on politics in Bollywood
He shared the seat with Anand Ranganathan, a scientist and author who has some strong views on Indian politics. The actor opened up about Bollywood politics and how cornering someone is a common practice in the industry."This fully happens, you know, ganging up against someone, elbowing them out, standing on somebody's toes, scuttling somebody's career. This happens. This is a fact. It happens in politics, corporations, and the media too. But this part is not glamorous," Ranvir added.
