Rishab Shetty Announces His Grand Telugu Debut, First Look Out

After the monstrous success of Kantara, Rishab Shetty is all set to foray into the Telugu industry in collaboration with Sithara Entertainment, one of the leading production banners in Telugu cinema. The announcement was made with a fierce new poster starring the actor.
In the poster, a cannon is aimed at the army, with a masked man overshadowing the violent environment with his presence. The poster hints at the film being a period drama set against the war.
The Rishab Shetty starrer will be directed by Aakashavaani fame Ashwin Gangaraju, who is also a proteacutegeacute of the iconic filmmaker SS Rajamouli. It will be co-produced by Fortune Four Cinemas and Srikara Studios.

As per reports, the yet-to-be-titled film is set against the volatile backdrop of 18th-century Bengal. Although more details like the cast, crew, storyline, plot, etc. have been kept under wraps, this announcement has caused an intrigue across the country.
Taking it to X (formerly Twitter), producer Naga Vamsi wrote, "Not all rebels are forged in battle. Some are chosen by Destiny. And this is that story of a Rebel. Proudly announcing @SitharaEnts Production No. 36 with the versatile and dynamic. @shetty_rishab garu."

According to sources, the Kantara star gave a nod to the film, as he liked the character's intensity and the story's novelty. This will be the first-ever period drama headlined by Shetty.
It promises a pan-Indian cinematic experience with a strong ensemble, high production value, and a narrative deeply rooted in history and culture. The film also largely banks on high-octane action and intense drama.
The Kannada and Telugu versions will be shot concurrently, and the movie will release in five languagesmdashTamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
On the work front
Rishab Shetty has an interesting lineup of projects in the future. He will be next seen in Prashanth Varma's Jai Hanuman, the sequel to Hanu-Man, which was one of the highest grossers of 2024. It will be produced by Mythri Movie Makers.

As a director, he is busy working on Kantara Chapter 1, a highly anticipated sequel to the first installment of the mythology thriller. The upcoming part dives deeper into the complexities of the rural mythology beliefs.
He will also play Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in a big-budget Hindi-language pan-Indian movie, which will mark a noteworthy turning point in his acting career.
