Aamir Khan's latest venture, Sitaare Zameen Par, is proving to be a steady ship at the box office. After a promising opening weekend, the film has successfully navigated the crucial weekday test, maintaining a solid grip on its earnings as it approaches its second weekend.

Rock-Steady on Weekdays

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Sitaare Zameen Par showed no significant decline in its collections on Tuesday, Day 5. The film minted 8.5 crore in all languages across India, bringing its total domestic collection to an impressive 75.15 crore. These figures are particularly encouraging given the film's modest budget, positioning it well to enter the coveted 100 crore club in the upcoming weekend.

The film's performance has been lauded by trade insiders. One expert noted on X, '#SitaareZameenPar maintains a rock-steady trend on Tuesday - the numbers are at par with Monday... Business continues to be driven by urban centres and premium properties beyond the metros - the target audience for the film.'

On Tuesday, the film registered an overall theatre occupancy of 18.87#37 for its Hindi version, with evening and night shows seeing higher footfalls. The movie also saw a decent response for its Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions, with overall occupancy rates of 18.06#37 and 16.98#37, respectively. Delhi NCR and Mumbai led the charge with the highest number of screenings and occupancy rates.

Sitaare Zameen Par isn't just winning hearts in India it's also making a mark globally. The film's worldwide collection has soared to 123 crore, with 33 crore coming from overseas markets. The India gross collection stood at 90 crore after six days.

The Aamir Khan Touch

Directed by R.S. Prasanna, the film is being called a spiritual successor to Khan's 2007 classic, Taare Zameen Par. It features Aamir as a temperamental basketball coach who finds new purpose while coaching a team of neurodivergent individuals. The movie also stars Genelia D'Souza as his wife.

This film marks a significant comeback for Aamir Khan, whose last release, "Laal Singh Chaddha" (2022), had a lifetime collection of 61.37 crore. The actor's strategic decision to delay the film's streaming release seems to be paying dividends. Khan has stated, 'It wouldn't come on a streaming platform at least until a year,' a move that has encouraged audiences to experience the film on the big screen.
