Bollywood actors are time and again mocked for their "before and after" looks, especially after they undergo cosmetic surgeries. Actress Tamannaah Bhatia explains why some actors, particularly female stars, are not vocal about the same and why the criticism follows. This was asked of her particularly in light of Shefali Jariwala's death.
The 'Milky beauty' sat down for an interview with Lallantop and spoke about a lot of things, including how the film industry is normalising undergoing beauty procedures like Botox, fillers, and cosmetic surgeries to look young or 'conventionally perfect.'
Tamannaah shared that the smallest of things often become a huge topic of discussion, and that's the real reason why actors often choose not to be vocal about anything and everything.
She said, "People need to understand that it is very easy to talk about people who are in the media glare. Because you know about their lives. There are so many people whose lives you don't know anything about, and you will never know either. In baton ke baare me hum bas charcha kar sakte hai. Isse hum kahi pahuchte nahi hai. (We can only discuss these things. This will not get us anywhere. I don't know how conclusive they are."

The Aaj Ki Raat actress explained how the cosmetic procedures are not a taboo anymore, thanks to Gen Z and the young generation being pretty accepting about it.
"Gen Z youngsters are really open about it. They are open about the procedures they go through. Koi bhi judgement ka guzarna nahi chahta. Wo kuch kahenge, unpe ungliya uthengi. (No one likes to face judgement. If they say anything, fingers will be pointed at them.) People who appear in films face a great deal of criticism. Wo shayad comfy nahi hai, apne baare me share karne ke liye. (Perhaps they are not comfortable revealing their lives," she elaborated.
As for Shefali Jariwala, she was found dead at her Mumbai home on the night of June 27. While post-mortem reports suggested the cause of her death was a cardiac arrest, certain reports hint at her receiving glutathione injectionsmdashpopularly used in anti-ageing therapiesmdashbefore her passing away.
On the work front, Tamannaah Bhatia will soon be seen in Vvaan: Force of the Forest, alongside Sidharth Malhotra. She also has Daring Partners, an Amazon Prime Video web series that also features Diana Penty and Jaaved Jaaferi.
