Tamil Actor-Filmmaker Manobala Passes Away At 69, Rajinikanth Pens A Heartfelt Note

Tamil actor and filmmaker Manobala, who began his career as an assistant director and went on to become a successful name in the industry, passed away at 69. Manobala breathed his last on Wednesday at Chennai's private hospital. As per his publicist, the veteran actor was admitted to the hospital 10 days ago. He was being treated for a severe liver ailment.
The entire Tamil industry came together to express their grief and shock. Fans couldn't believe the news of Manobala's death. Superstar Rajinikanth took to Twitter and paid a heartfelt tribute to his 'dear friend.'

Tweeting in Tamil, the Robot actor wrote, "I am deeply saddened by the passing away of my dear friend Manobala, a famous director and actor. My condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace.", , . . .@manobalam

Producer G Dhananjayan also expressed his shock upon learning about Manobala's sudden death. His tweet read, 'Shocking and it's unbelievable such a sweet person and a good friend Manobala sir passed away. Heartfelt condolences to the family. May his soul rest in peace (sic).'

Actor Gautham Karthik also expressed his sadness and shared a heartfelt note. Taking it to Twitter, he wrote, 'Heartbreaking to hear that director/actor Manobala sir is no longer with us. Was a true pleasure to work with you, sir! You will be surely missed! Condolences to family, friends, and loved ones.'
Who Was Manobala
A versatile actor and filmmaker, Manobala had a creative eye for films. He started his career in 1979 as an assistant director on Bharathiraja's Puthiya Vaarpugal., in which he played a small role as well. He made his directorial debut in 1982 with Aagaya Gangai.He had also directed a Bollywood film titled Mera Pati Sirf Mera Hai starring Jeetendra. Some of his other directorials include Pillai Nila, Sirai Parvai, and Oorkavalan among others. His last directorial project was fa Tamil film Naina (2002).
Over the last two decades, Manobala was active as an actor. He was popularly known and loved for his side comic roles, The veteran actor has acted in almost over 200 films. Manobala was last seen in Kajal Aggarwal's Tamil horror-comedy Ghosty.
