Bollywood pays no importance to music Pankaj Udhas

Ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas, who has launched his single "Khwaabon ki Kahaani", says Bollywood isn&39;t paying much importance to music and that seems to have brought its standard down. "Bollywood pays no importance to music. The importance of music has become practically zero in Bollywood. The songs in movies are only there to promote the film. They are not an integral part of the movie or the script. "Earlier, one used to listen to some good music and poetry because the songs used to be woven into the script and they used to be relevant to the script. Today, the songs in cinemas are not relevant to films. They have brought the standard of music to the pedestrian level and there is nothing that we can do about it," Udhas told IANS. A widely popular singer, Udhas has sung songs like "Chitthi Aayee Hai" and "Jiye toh jiye kaise" in movies. His latest single "Khwaabon ki Kahaani" was launched on hungama.com, an on-demand digital entertainment storefront, in the hope of reaching out to a larger audience and as an attempt to revive ghazals. He says the lack of revenues in the music world is hampering the quality, however, there&39;s hope due to the online platform. "Most of the audio labels have absolutely no revenues out of any music which they produce unless it is produced by Bollywood, because Bollywood has the money to spend. Because of lack of revenue, there is no new stuff coming out. "The only hope is a digital platform like Hungama which can take your music across to the world. So I&39;m really hoping that through digital sources we will bounce back," Udhas said. Talking about his new single, the 64-year-old singer said he liked the ghazal since he first heard it from it&39;s lyricist Aalok Shrivastav and recorded it within a week. "What&39;s exciting for me is that this is my first ghazal single. I&39;ve always done albums all my life. It was during the recording of a television serial title track which I was composing that Aalok Shrivastav narrated a ghazal that he had written. And I really liked the ghazal. "I told him let&39;s record it. Within a week&39;s time, we recorded the ghazal and decided to make it a single. We tied up with Hungama so that we have a worldwide digital presence. We also shot a video for the song so we can connect with the younger audience and reach a larger audience," he added.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan Review Salman Khans StarStudded Film Whistles At Its Own Herogiri

Salman Khan`s latest release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan has finally hit the theatres. While Salman fans have gone gaga over the most anticipated movie, is this star-studded film worth your time and money? Here`s our honest movie review of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. May we say, for people who are planning on to watch this Bollywood movie, you will find everything here - action, drama. romance, comedy, entertainment - but there`s the logic that is missing throughout the plot.

Let`s dive straight into the movie review.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan Review: The Plot

Bhaijaan (played by Salman Khan) decides not to get married as he is afraid that a girl will separate him from his lovely brothers Moh (Jassie Gill), Love (Siddharth Nigam), and Ishq (Raghav Juyal). His life changes when a Hyderabadi girl named Bhagya Lakshmi Gundamaneni (played by Pooja Hegde) enters his house as a tenant and surprisingly changes his perspective toward marriage.

Soon Bhaijaan gets to know that some goons are after Bhagya Lakshmi and are attacking her. The movie answers who is Bhagya Lakshmi and why is she the target of the goons.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan Review: What Worked

Salman Khan is back as always with his action-packed emotional drama which shows him as the lead actor with long, flowing hair, who talks about fraternal love and social duty. His new hairstyle has surprised his fans. Pooja Hegde`s performance was also impressive. Venkatesh Daggubati`s presence in the film is a huge deal and Jagapathi Babu`s acting as a villain has added extra crispness to the film.

Ram Charan also had a special cameo in the film. Meanwhile, other cast includes Raghav Juyal, Siddharth Nigam, Shehnaaz Gill, Jassie Gill, and Palak Tiwari who also performed well.

If you are looking for an out-and-out family drama filled with action scenes and emotional nonsense, then it is a must-watch for you.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan Review: What Went Downhill

For the unversed, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is an official remake of the Tamil blockbuster, Veeram (2014). However, it fails to impress the audience with its star-studded cast and less entertaining scenes. The movie is like a boring ride of dreary melodrama, dowdy faceoffs, and forcibly squeezed-in songs every few minutes for the lamest of reasons.

The script lacks novelty for sure, and you can easily predict the next scene. The connectivity between the scenes is not at all established well.

Also Read: Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan Actress Shehnaaz Gill Wants To Be Salman Khan`s Lead Heroine

If we talk about Jagapathi Babu, the antagonist of the film who seeks revenge, should have been shown as a powerful villain. But his dialogues and actions do not match the role he is performing. Also, Bhumika Chawla`s role was just another amenity that was unnecessary and how.

Directed by Farhad Samji, the movie was full of awkward moments where sensible moviegoers fail to analyze the importance of any character in a particular scene and most of the time, the relevance of the scene in the film itself.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan Review: Our Verdict

It would be a good remake if only the makers took the plot seriously. But if you are looking for a Bollywood film with a South Indian tadka, then you must watch Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ka Jaan. Also, the die-hard fans of Salman Khan will be surprised to see him in his new avatar. Radio City rates Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan a 2.5 stars out of 5.

Have you seen this latest Bollywood release yet? If yes, what`s your review?

Gaslight Movie Review Sara Ali Khan Vikrant Masseys Thriller Is A Series Of Predictable Events

The Plot:

A wheelchair-bound young woman, Meesha (Sara Ali Khan) returns to the ancestral house of her father in Rajasthan after a long time, only to discover that her father is missing. She starts noticing a series of odd events in the house like items getting lost, unusual nocturnal footsteps, and often dimming gaslights that are moving on their own. When she tries to explain the unusual things happening in the haveli, nobody believes her. Will Meesha be able to uncover the mystery?

What Worked:

The story shows that Meesha had a drastic past as her mother committed suicide. Fortunately, she survives a life-threatening accident. The unexpected events happening in the house undoubtedly produce suspense and make it more intense. Haunted palace, a lonely woman, paranormal activities happening around, and family members` strange behavior, Gaslight has all the ingredients that make it an engaging thriller film one should watch!

The story is like a rollercoaster ride that makes you question everything in the beginning but will ravishingly interestingly reveal the truth.

Also Read: Sara Ali Khan To Kiara Advani: 5 Viral Videos Of The Bollywood Stars In 2022 That Will Shock You!

What Doesn`t Work?

The story lacks conflicts and reasoning after sometime. Things seem much more predictable with each successive event. Although the story claims to be a suspense thriller but lacks to create suspense and fails to frighten the audience. The drama is not spiced up to that extent and fails to keep the viewers hooked.

Talking about the actors, Sara Ali Khan`s performance as Meera is commendable as she perfectly picks up the character and effortlessly amazes us with her acting. Meanwhile, the role of Kapil played by Vikrant Massey makes the story interesting as he portrays the nice and the bad guy in the best way possible. His performance is the only thing that creates some sort of thrill in the movie. Whereas Chiṭrangada Singh as Rukmani and Akshay Oberoi as Rana carried their characters with much ease without disappointing the audience.

Also Read: Kartik Aaryan Breaks Silence On His Viral Picture With Sara Ali Khan In Udaipur Here`s What He Said

Gaslight Movie Review: Our Verdict

Even though the film is a series of predictable events but the actors will keep you hooked. The commendable performance of the cast makes sure to engage the audience. If you are looking for a thriller movie with unique casting, then it`s a much watch for you!

Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar Review RanbirShraddhas RomCom Is All About The ModernAge Relationship

The Plot:

Ranbir Kapoor plays the role of Mickey, who is a break-up guru by profession goes on a Bachelor’s trip with his friend Dabbas (Anubhav Singh Bassi) and there the guys are joined by Dabbas’s fiancé, Kinchi (Monica Chaudhary) and her friend, Tinni (played by Shraddha Kapoor). The story is all about how Mickey and Tinni fall in love with each other and fight because their perspective doesn’t meet. The film is a combination of romance, emotions, and a lot of humor that will make you laugh wholeheartedly. But, at the same time, some scenes are also intolerably boring.

What Worked:

For many Bollywood fans, the simple reason to go for this film is the sizzling chemistry between Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor. A crispy story written by Luv Ranjan and Rahul Mody switches well from comedy to drama. It is a typical Bollywood Masala film that offers a perfect love story, a peppy music album, effective situational comedy, and last but not least strong family values. Ranbir Kapoor delivers all the emotions the film requires in the best way possible and Shraddha Kapoor is seen in a new avatar. You will be able to connect with every scene as the actors have managed to deliver all the emotions that make it more interesting to watch.

Studded with funny dialogue, the film will tickle your bones at some moment. It amazingly portrays the family issues the lead actors go through. You just can’t ignore the way film shows the clashes between the thoughts and perceptions of men and women. The film also features Anubhav Singh Bassi, Dimple Kapadia, Boney Kapoor, Monica Chaudhary who intrestingly portrya a heart-warming family set-up.

What Went Downhill:

It’s not wrong to say that, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar touches chords with modern-age romantic relationships and issues that aren`t far from reality although there`s no moral compass that the director defines for his characters. There’s nothing new as it’s all about how a girl and a boy fall in love, promise to stay together and then suddenly life takes a turn and they fall out of love as their perceptions don’t match. As mentioned earlier, the film will make you laugh out loud but, at the same time, certain things will be intolerably boring.

Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar Review: Our Verdict

The first half sets the base whereas the conflict beautifully comes together in the second half which makes it a masala movie. Even the weird and problematic relationship issues are shown in a funny manner which makes it a light-hearted film. If you are a Bollywood fan, the movie won’t disappoint you as the peppy songs and romantic scenes will steal your heart!

Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar Review: Ranbir-Shraddha’s Rom-Com Is All About The Modern-Age Relationship

Selfiee Review Is Akshay KumarEmran Hashmi Starrer Worth Your Time

The Plot:

Akshay Kumar plays the role of superstar Vijay Kumar, who ends up having a misunderstanding with his biggest fan RTO Inspector Om Prakash Aggarwal. All this fan desired was a sefliee with his idol, but things take an ugly turn when the media gets involved and it becomes a battle of egos and an ultimate fight between a superstar vs his die-hard fan.

What Worked:

Akshay as Vijay performs better than one could imagine. His behavior towards the superstardom he enjoys in real life will hook you. The best part is that despite having a charming personality and swag, Akshay shows signs of gratitude for his fans ignoring the fact that he is a self-made star. Meanwhile, you just can`t ignore Emraan Hashmi`s performance as a middle-class man and a die-hard fan who stays patient and subtly portrays his character.

What Went Downhill:

Unexpectedly the ladies are neglected or have very little contribution to the film. Nushrratt Bharuccha as Om Prakash`s wife is caring but fakes her behavior sometimes. Although she doesn`t approve of her husband`s love for a star, she doesn`t mind faking her behavior in front of the whole colony when her husband is enjoying his 2 minutes of fame on news channels.

Whereas Diana Penty as Vijay`s wife seems like she existed in the script only because there needed to be an emotional connection between the two which was missing. And the superstar could have used that emotional connection to deliver an emotional speech in the climax. It is not wrong to say that Diana doesn`t get much scope to perform or show her fantastic acting skills. Even her scenes with Akshay aren`t that great they will make you sit and enjoy their chemistry.

Selfiee Review: Our Verdict

If you are a die-hard fan of Akshay Kumar then this movie is definitely for you but, if you are looking for a comedy film with a good concept then you might need to figure out whether this movie is for you or not.

The pleasantly surprising point was when Aditya Chopra, who is known to hate doing interviews, extensively spoke about his love affair with cinema and his father`s contribution to making him the filmmaker he is today.

There’s also an interview with the late Rishi Kapoor whose funny commentary is among the most memorable things of the series. YRF not only beautifully molded romance but also made us believe in a world of fictional love stories and cinematic tales.

The Romantics Review: What Didn’t Work

We will sum it up in just one sentence - you will have to be a die-hard Bollywood fan to binge-watch The Romantics. Of course, it revolves around Yash Chopra, his movies, and how he became the `Father of Romance.` But after a point, it somehow fails to connect with the layman as the conversations become rather monotonous.

Glorifying Bollywood movies, their characters, the filmmaking process, the struggles, and everything in between would`ve been good for one or two episodes. We are not sure if a four-part docu-series would keep the viewers hooked till the end.

Another thing that created the funniest hiccup amidst this Netflix docu-series was Uday Chopra`s weird accent. That was rather unnecessary because we all have heard him deliver dialogues and this is definitely not his real accent.

The Romantics Review: Our Verdict

Well, if you are a true blue Bollywood fan, you must add The Romantics to your binge-watch list. Even one episode is enough to make you nostalgic and miss the time when you fell in love with Yash Chopra’s world of romance. This was our review for Netflix docu-series The Romantics. What are your views on the same?
