While he is typically in the limelight due to his kids, Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan, there are some of the best Saif Ali Khan characters that are a delight to watch every single time. He has ruled the big screens, and now he is the OTT king.
On Saif`s birthday, let us take you through some nostalgic yet brilliant performances that left us in awe of the Adipurush actor.
1. Inspector Sartaj Singh: Sacred Games
When you thought Saif Ali Khan could not shoulder a project, here he was, playing the good cop gone bad. The Sacred Games showcased a side of the actor we’ve longed to see. The games he played in the Netflix web series were certainly not sacred.
2. Langda Tyagi: Omkara
This was certainly a challenging and atypical role for Saif. The actor played a convoluted villain who stole the show with his stellar acting. This was the first project on which Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor collaborated. Back then, the two weren’t dating.
3. Jay: Love Aaj Kal
Imtiaz Ali knows how to get the best from his actors, and Saif was no different in Love Aaj Kal. Portraying the carefree Casanova who jumped from one relationship to another, Meera (Deepika Padukone) became his safe space and confidant. It was pleasant to see Saif Ali Khan’s character transform massively.
4. Sameer: Dil Chahta Hai
A boy who hates the idea of arranged marriage falls into the trap of love at first sight with a potential proposal. Isn’t that the millennial generation today?
Saif Ali Khan played the relatable character of Sameer, a carefree boy who is in desperate search of his soulmate. He was the most reliable friend one could ever have.
5. Rohit: Kal Ho Naa Ho
If there’s one Saif Ali Khan character we love the most, it has to be Rohit from Kal Ho Naa Ho. His charming nature, selflessness for Naina (Preity Zinta), and brotherhood for Aman (Shah Rukh Khan) are what make him the ideal boy next door.
6. Boris: Go Goa Gone
This was by far the best comic timing we have seen in a long time. Saif Ali Khan`s character, Boris, was a pure Delhite who pretended his best to be a Russian mafia boss. We cannot wait for the sequel to this epic horror comedy.
Radio City wishes the Nawab of Bollywood, Saif Ali Khan, a very happy birthday.
