Akshay Kumar`s Bhooth Bangla gets a new release date
The much-anticipated horror comedy, Bhooth Bangla, gets a new release date. The movie reunites Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan after 14 years. The news of the actor and filmmaker collaborating has already excited moviegoers.
Originally scheduled to release in April 2026, the film has now been pushed to May. This is a strategic move by the makers to avoid a clash with Ranveer Singh`s Dhurandhar 2.
Given the success of Dhurandhar and how it continues to roar at the box office even in its fifth week, the makers decided to push Bhooth Bangla to May.
Confirming the same officially, a new poster of the film was shared on social media with Akshay Kumar on it. The caption read, “Bangle se ek khabar aayi hai! The doors open on 15th May 2026. See you in cinemas #BhoothBangla.”

While the Akshay-Priyadarshan collaboration has already made the film the most-awaited one of 2026, its stellar star cast has only increased more intrigue.
Bhooth Bangla will also see Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Jisshu Sengupta, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, and Wamiqa Gabbi in prominent roles. The film has been shot across several locations, including Jaipur and Hyderabad.
Fans were quick to react to the news. One commented, “Wow, it`s Priyadarshan! All Priyadarshan movies which Akshay has done were fantastic... Now again.”
Another user commented, “The OG actor and director duo Akshay and Priyadarshan are coming with Bhoot Bangla,” while a third comment read, “Comeback of peak comedy movie – Akshay Kumar + Priyadarshan.”
The poster of the film gives hints at the story revolving around a mysterious and haunted mansion, with Akshay in the lead. The horror-comedy genre has been sitting well with fans, especially after films like Stree, Stree 2, and Thamma.
Bhooth Bangla will see a theatrical release on May 15, 2026. Apart from this, Akshay Kumar also has Welcome To The Jungle and Haiwaan in pipeline.
