Boney Kapoor Announces Plans of Making ‘Mom 2’ Starring Khushi Kapoor

Renowned producer Boney Kapoor has unveiled plans for a sequel to the 2017 film `Mom`, which originally starred his late wife, Sridevi. This upcoming project, titled `Mom 2`, is set to feature their younger daughter, Khushi Kapoor, in the lead role. The announcement was made during the silver jubilee celebrations of the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) 2025 on Sunday.
In her latest venture, `Nadaaniyan`, Khushi stars opposite Ibrahim Ali Khan. The film, which premiered on Netflix on March 7, 2025, revolves around Pia Jai Singh (Khushi Kapoor), a South Delhi socialite who believes love should follow a perfect script. She convinces Arjun Mehta (Ibrahim Ali Khan), a determined middle-class overachiever, to play her pretend boyfriend until real feelings start to appear. The film has received a lukewarm reception since its release.
`Mom`, released in 2017, showcased Sridevi in a powerful role as a mother seeking justice for her daughter. Directed by Ravi Udyawar, the film received critical acclaim for its gripping narrative and Sridevi`s stellar performance, earning her the Best Actress National Award posthumously.

Boney Kapoor`s Upcoming Projects
Apart from `Mom 2`, Boney Kapoor has several projects lined up. He announced `No Entry Mein Entry`, a sequel to the 2005 hit `No Entry`. This much-awaited sequel will feature a fresh cast, including Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Arjun Kapoor. Boney Kapoor mentioned that the film is set to go on floors sometime in July-August. He stated, “It will go on floors sometime in July-August. There are too many leading ladies, so I can`t just talk about a few now. We have locked a few and have some more to go.
