Boney Kapoor Reveals the Real Reason for Sridevi`s Death

Sridevi was a legendary actress in the film industry. She had the ability to set the screen on fire with her acting skills and her dance moves. That`s why, when the news of her sudden death came about in 2018, everyone was left in disbelief and deep mourning. It was just unimaginable to think that the Mr. India actress was no more. What was even more shocking was the way she died. In February 2018, Sridevi was attending a wedding in Dubai with her husband, Boney Kapoor. Suddenly, the news broke that she drowned herself in the bathtub. There were many theories as to what exactly caused her death, with the family maintaining silence over the matter. After about 5 years since her death, Boney Kapoor revealed the real reason for Sridevi`s death in an interview.

In the interview, Kapoor shared how Sridevi had been on a strict diet, due to which she would often pass out due to low BP. She wanted to make sure that she looked good on screen and did everything she could to maintain her physique. He also revealed that ever since they were married, Sridevi would have incidents of blackouts, and their doctor kept saying that she had a low BP issue.
Not just that, even the Telugu film star Nagarjuna confirmed this and said that he had seen her struggling on the set due to her diet. Nagarjuna had come to offer his condolences when he shared this with Boney Kapoor.
"It was not a natural death; it was an accidental death. I had decided not to speak about it because I spoke about it for almost 24-48 hours together when I was being investigated and interrogated." Kapoor further shared while speaking about the media ordeal that followed her death, owing to which the police had to conduct a rigorous investigation.
Sridevi`s last film was the revenge thriller Mom, in which her performance was very well appreciated. She was a recipient of the Padma Shri Award and also won the National Film Award on multiple occasions for her various portrayals. She married Boney Kapoor in 1996 and gave birth to Janhvi Kapoor in 1997 and Khushi Kapoor in 2000.
