Brahmastra ended with a bang by becoming one of the best Bollywood openers across the globe. The VFX, the larger-than-life story, and a powerful star cast made it the biggest blockbuster of 2022. Leaving the audience intrigued and wanting more, the makers have now introduced a little twist for the second part of the movie. Apparently, after Hrithik Roshan and Ranveer Singh, Vijay Deverakonda has been approached to play the role of Dev in the mythological fiction.
After Hrithik Roshan and Ranveer Singh denied playing the part, the makers of the movie approached KGF fame Yash to play the part. However, he also rejected the role. If reports were to be believed, Vijay Deverakonda has fallen under the potential list of options to play Dev in Brahmastra Part 2.
A source close to the production informed, “The Brahmastra franchise is being backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Yes, three actors were approached, but now, Karan is looking at roping in Vijay. The two have worked together on Liger and understand how the other person works, so it comes as no surprise.”
Further talking about Vijay being approached by the makers, the source added, “Liger did not exactly hit the target, instead it was way off. Both Vijay and Karan are looking to work together on something that will hit the mark, and kick-start Vijay’s journey in Bollywood. Given this, essaying the role of Dev in Brahmastra 2 is perfect for Vijay and plays well for the makers of the film as well.”
Adding another logical reason why the makers are keen on having Deverakonda on board, the source revealed, “If Vijay signs on to play Dev in Brahmastra 2, the film will get the added advantage of featuring a big name from the South. This will ensure Brahmastra 2 has a pan-India appeal while capturing audiences in all sectors.”
As for Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor starrer Brahmastra, the second part will carry forward the story, thus revealing who is Dev. With new characters being added to the cast, it will be a treat for Ranbir-Alia fans to watch the mythological fiction with new twists and turns. After the final cast is locked, the movie is likely to go on floors by 2023 ending with a marathon scheduled and hitting the theatres in 2025.
