Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is the latest `Global Star` to feature on the cover of Time magazine. She is praised for ‘bringing the world to Bollywood’ with her outstanding work. In the year 2018, she was among the 100 people who were honored by the magazine on their Most Influential list.

In her latest corresponding interview, Deepika is called ‘the most popular actress in the world’s most populous country’. She is seen wearing beige oversized shoes and without shoes. In the interview, Deepika finally broke the silence about the `Constant Backlash` against her. She said, “I don’t know if I’m supposed to feel something about it. But the truth is, I don’t feel anything about it.” Earlier, the actress`s film Padmaavat witnessed protests from Karni Sena, and her visit to the Jawaharlal Nehru University to express solidarity with students who were brutally attacked by a mob, led to an uproar. How can we forget about her `saffron bikini` from a song in Pathaan that became a topic of debate and the film was even boycotted?
Deepika also talked about India`s recent performance at the Oscars, which she also joined as a presenter. The Telugu film RRR won Best Song Trophy for Naatu Naatu and created history. Guneet Monga`s The Elephant Whisperers won Best Documentary Short. Deepika believes that we should not be satisfied with this and says “But I don’t think we should be happy with one Oscar for a song and one Oscar for a ary,” she said. “I hope we can look at this as the beginning of an opportunity.”
Talking about the work front, Deepika will be next seen in the upcoming pan-India action thriller Project K alongside Prabhas. She also has Siddharth Anand`s next action thriller film Fighter opposite Hrithik Roshan on the lane. Fighter will be her second film with Siddharth Anand after they created history with this year`s biggest hit Pathaan. Fighter is slated to release on January 25, 2024.
