Among the many experiences she shared, Mehta spoke about her decision to freeze her eggs. She wrote, “Been meaning to do this for a while and finally got around to it. I froze my eggs at the beginning of the month.” A touching image in the post showed her holding someone`s hands while lying on a bed, possibly taken at the time of the procedure.
The post wasn’t just about her egg-freezing journey. Mehta also shared glimpses of her eventful month, including a picture with actor Abhay Deol, her first-ever advertisement shoot, celebrating Humans of Bombay’s 11th anniversary, attending the Coldplay concert, and raising 20 lakh for a rape victim.

Explaining her decision, she shared in a social media post, “As a vegetarian, I won’t eat meat because it doesn’t sit right with me to consume a living being. How then can it sit well with me to partake in a market that prides itself on being ‘luxury’ by levying their premium-ness on the quality of animal being skinned?”
She further added, “As I have arrived at the decision to not only stop the purchase of leather of any kind, it guts to me use the leather that I may have already purchased. In the weeks to come, I will begin a sale of all my leather items—the proceeds of which will go towards animal welfare NGOs.”
Mehta founded Humans of Bombay in 2014, a platform dedicated to sharing real-life narratives through powerful storytelling. Over the years, it has grown into a well-known name, shedding light on inspiring and thought-provoking stories.
Through her work and personal choices, Karishma Mehta continues to make an impact, whether it’s through storytelling, philanthropy, or her commitment to ethical living.
