"Ranveer Singh Powered By Deepika Padukone" Says The Actor After Winning Filmfare Award For `83

A phenomenal actor and a doted husband, Ranveer Singh is a most certainly the man of almost every girl`s dreams. Recently at the 67th Filmfare Awards, he won the Best Actor Award for his film `83 The Movie. Not only did he take the lady in black home, but he also won hearts when he pointed towards his wife and said it out and proud, “Ranveer Singh powered by Deepika Padukone.”
Making us all go "awww," Ranveer Singh gave a rather emotional speech, thanking his stars and feeling nothing but gratitude. A video of from the Bollywood award ceremony somehow found its way online and is now trending on Twitter. The winner`s announcement was made by the couple`s close friend and filmmaker Karan Johar.
Followed by what we`d like to call PDA, Ranveer said, “The past few years have been wonderful. This is the 4th Filmfare in about 6 years which is pretty awesome. I have had the privilege of working with some of the finest filmmakers in the country. I credit them with this (trophy). This achievement is only possible because they believe in me and they believe I can be part of their vision and contribute as an artiste and bring to life the story that they want to tell.”
“This was a very special part and once I am done with my responsibilities here I will call Kapil Dev sir. Just cannot wait to speak to Kapil paaji and connect with him and tell him that this is for him. Winning 5 Filmfare Best Actor awards feels quite incredible and is really humbling,” he further added.
Helmed by Kabir Khan, `83 The Movie also featured Harrdy Sandhu, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Ammy Virk, and Saqib Saleem among others. Deepika Padukone portrayed Ranveer Singh`s reel-life wife Romi Dev. The 2021 release was about the 1983 World Cup match where Team India lifted the cup for the first time in the history of cricket.
While Ranveer Singh took the lady in black home, Vicky Kaushal and Kriti Sanon won the Filmfare Awards too for best actor and actress in Sardar Udham Singh and Mimi, respectively.
