Karan Johar spills the beans on RRKPK`s Tum Kya Mile
Pouring out his emotions in a rather elaborative post, the filmmaker took to Instagram and shared the journey of filming Tum Kya Mile. He wanted to dedicate the song as an ode to the legendary director and his mentor, Yash Chopra.
Sharing a still from the song, Karan shared some interesting facts on what went into bringing back the 90s era of Bollywood romance.

He wrote how he felt bad for making Alia wear a chiffon saree and shooting in the freezing weather of Kashmir. The Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani song was shot right after the actress delivered Raha Kapoor. He also revealed how Ranveer was nervous since this was his first time lip-syncing a romantic song in the snow.
Karan`s post read, "In a few hours, #tumkyamile will be yours. I remember that at the very onset, my instinct was that I wanted to film a love song that would unabashedly pay homage to my guru, Yash Chopra. The thinking mind would say, "You can’t match it or even dare to emulate it," but the fanboy and the ardent lover of snow, chiffons, the stunning locations of Kashmir, and sheer romance got the better of me. Pritam Dada and I yearned for a song for the ages from the ages, and it had to be unapologetic or it wouldn’t be true."

Thanking Vaibhavi Merchant, who choreographed this song, Karan says she gave life to his dreams. KJo further mentioned how he will always be a Yash Chopra fan.

"My deepest gratitude to Vaibhavi Merchant, who got the Memo better than I did and completely took charge, being a Yash Chopra lover herself. She gave her heart to our song. This is also the first shoot Alia did after the birth of her angel, and I remain sorry for freezing her in Manish Malhotra chiffons. In sympathy, I fell drastically ill through the shoot (perhaps a karmic punishment?). Ranveer was nervous as this was his first lip sync mountain love song, but he was a real trooper. So we are back to the valleys for an ishq wala lip sync chiffon saree song. I hope you feel the love as much as we did. This one’s for you, Yash uncle. Your fan forever, Karan," the filmmaker concluded.
Fans react to Karan Johar`s post on Tum Kya Mile
As soon as the post went up, fans showered it with love in the comments. Some expressed their excitement about bringing back the 90s romance, while others fell in love with Karan`s emotional note.

Many were seen dropping red heart emojis.
