TV Actress And Jhanak Fame Dolly Sohi Dies Of Cervical Cancer At 48
The Hindi television industry woke up with rather shocking and sad news. TV actress Dolly Sohi and her sister Amandeep Sohi pass away just a day later. Dolly was diagnosed with cervical cancer, while Amandeep was battling jaundice. The Jhanak actress was 48 years old.
On March 7, Amandeep Sohi was diagnosed with jaundice and breathed her last on the same day. As for Dolly Sohi, she had been battling cervical cancer for quite some time. She passed away on March 8, a day after her sister`s death.
Dolly, known for her popular character Shrishti Mukherjee in Jhanak, recently quit the show, citing health reasons. She was also known for her roles in TV serials like Bhabhi, Kalash, Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi, and Khoob Ladi Mardaani Jhansi Ki Rani.
Amandeep, on the other hand, was also a successful television actress and became a household name with shows like Badtameez Dil.
“We are devastated. Dolly passed away around 4 a.m. this morning,” said Manu. He also confirmed that Amaneep Sohi passed away on March 7 after she was diagnosed with jaundice.
“Both Dolly and Amandeep were admitted to Apollo Hospital in New Mumbai. Amandeep passed away yesterday, and now Dolly,” he further added. Dolly`s funeral will be held on Friday afternoon.

Sharing a beautiful picture, Dolly wrote, “THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR SENDING YOUR LOVE AND PRAYERS. Life has been a roller coaster lately, but if you have the strength to fight with it, then your journey becomes easier. It’s up to you: what do you choose to be: a victim of journey (cancer) or a survivor of journey?”
As per some reports, Dolly Sohi was previously married to a Canada-based NRI, Avneet Dhanowa. The actress is survived by her daughter, Amelie.
In an old interview, she spoke about how tough it was to reveal her diagnosis to her daughter. Amelie was 14 years old when her mother hinted at her condition, assuring her she would be okay.
