2023 will end on a blockbuster note, with many highly anticipated movies releasing. One of them is Sam Bahadur. Headlined by Vicky Kaushal, the film has kept every movie buff on their toes ever since it was announced. Based on the real-life story of Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw, the movie revolves around his noteworthy contribution and fearless attitude to take down enemies.
The trailer for Sam Bahadur was unveiled on Tuesday, and it took the internet by storm. The teaser for the upcoming film left us wanting for more. What`s interesting is how Vicky Kaushal camouflages the character, thus bringing Sam Manekshaw`s image to life.
During the trailer launch, the actor revealed something that left us shocked. Vicky initially thought he was not `handsome enough` to fit for the role. It all started with Megna Gulzar, the director of Sam Bahadur, narrating the story to him on the sets of Raazi.
"I remember when Meghna and I were working on Raazi, and then during a shooting schedule in Patiala, she told me what she wanted to do next. And she said she wants to make a film on Sam Manekshaw," the actor said.

"My mother and father are both from Punjab, and through them, I had heard a lot about him. But I didn`t know how he looked. So during that conversation, I secretly Googled him and saw his photo. I said, `He is very handsome, and I will not get this role.` But I have to thank Meghna for giving me the role of this handsome person," Kaushal further added.
The Sam Bahadur trailer was unveiled by Army Chief General Manoj Pande. The movie`s cast, including Vicky, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, director Meghna, and producer Ronnie Screwvala, also attended the trailer launch.
Sam Bahadur will showcase the four-decade-long career of Sam Manekshaw, including significant milestones such as fighting in World War II and becoming Army Chief during the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
Headlining such an important story was not easy for Vicky Kaushal. Portraying Manekshaw was the toughest role of his life.
"It is the toughest role of my life, not because of the way he talked and walked but because of the man he was. This was an attempt to live that life. It is obviously a team effort," said the Zara Hatke Zara Bachke actor.
Sam Bahadur is all set to release on December 1 in cinemas near you.
