Genelia D`Souza and Riteish Deshmukh are hands down the most adorable and relatable couple in Bollywood. Their interviews and Instagram reels are a thorough source of entertainment. Speaking of interviews, Genelia once opened up about how the couple strives to keep their marriage smooth. She credited her husband, Riteish, for the same.
In an old interview, Genelia D`Souza and Riteish Deshmukh spoke about their careers, love lives, parenting, and everything in between. The two have been together for almost two decades now. Sharing the secrets of a happy marriage, the Ved actress spoke about creating a systematic lifestyle around their married life.
“I have to compliment Riteish for that because he doesn’t make any issues." We don’t fight; we only fight when I want to fight. He won’t get into the nitty-gritty of issues; sometimes I feel I want that to happen because I am a different person. But he lets me be. I think in all of that, we found the rhythm of communication,” said Genelia D`Souza.
She further added, “Initially, we would not communicate our issues at all, but later I wanted that to happen so that we know why we are upset and it doesn’t come back again, and those kinds of things help in our relationship. Plus, we try and keep the kids involved in our lives; we travel together most times.”
The Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na actress mentioned they have their ups and downs too. She said letting things go is an art Riteish has mastered.
“We all have moments in our relationships where we perhaps have an argument or moments where we cannot live without each other; it is part of life. We also know our priorities and let go of things that are not so important,” she added.
She revealed how Riteish would constantly encourage her to return to acting. “He would tell me why I am wasting my talent; he told me that when I am busy, he will take off, and vice versa.”
Genelia D`souza had taken a voluntary break from acting because she wanted to become a doting mother and take care of her children. She and Riteish Deshmukh have two sons, Riaan and Rahyl.
The actress was last seen in Trial Period alongside Manav Kaul. Genelia plays a single mother to a son whose one demand changes their lives forever. The movie also featured Sheeba Chaddha, Gajraj Rao, and Shakti Kapoor.
