Akshay Kumar lovers who were eagerly waiting for the sequels of his blockbuster hit films are devastated and shocked now. It was Akshay who added charm to the movies like Hera Pheri, Welcome, and Awara Paagal Deewana but it will break your heart to know that he will not be there in the upcoming sequels of these films.
On November 11, Paresh Rawal unexpectedly confirmed that Akshay Kumar will be replaced by Kartik Aaryan for the much-awaited sequels, this was enough to make Akshay’s fans angry. When asked for the reasons, producer Firoz Nadiadwala said that Akshay Kumar was charging Rs. 90 crores plus some more share in the profit whereas Kartik was ready to work for Rs. 30 crores.
On the same day in an event, Akshay Kumar confirmed that he had to decline the sequel as he did not like the script of the movie. Whereas according to some sources, “Akshay Kumar was hurt over not being able to be a part of Hera Pheri’s next installment since the franchise holds a special place in his career. However, Firoz Nadiadwala was just being practical. Akshay refused to lower his price. This can’t be a one-way street; it’s not fair that only Akshay makes money while the producer incurs losses. And post-pandemic, one has no choice but to lower his/her remuneration.”
The sources said, “Firoz tried explaining this to Akshay but he didn’t relent. With no other choice, Firoz Nadiadwala got Kartik Aaryan on board for Hera Pheri 3. This is when Akshay Kumar realized that Firoz meant business.”
Firoz Nadiadwala wanted Akshay Kumar for the upcoming sequels of Welcome, and Awara Paagal Deewana also. “Firoz had made it clear to Akshay Kumar that he was the first choice for both these highly exciting sequels. He was hoping that he and Akshay could sit down and work on the commercials so that it benefited everyone.”
