Originally known as Tabassum Fatima Hashmi, the actress now prefers to be called by her stage name as it is simpler and easier to remember. The actress turns 52 tomorrow.
She started off as an uncredited actor at the age of 11 with the 1982 release Bazaar. It was in 1985 that she was noticed in Hum Naujawan, where she played the role of Dev Anand`s daughter. Tabu made her official debut as an actress in the Tamil film Coolie No. 1, opposite Venkatesh.
In 1994, she came into the limelight after making her glorious Bollywood debut in Pehla Pehla Pyaar, opposite Rishi Kapoor. After a series of flops, Tabu finally became a household name with her role in Vijaypath.
The actress has thoroughly entertained us with some spectacular performances in movies like Hum Saath Saath Hain, Maqbool, The Namesake, Chandni Bar, Chachi 420, Haider, Andhadhun, and many more.
