Nana Patekar took the internet by storm after he walked out of Welcome to the Jungle. While the third installment of Welcome will be headlined by Akshay Kumar, it will be the iconic duo of Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi who play Uday Shetty and Majnu`s characters. Patekar denied being a part of Welcome 3 after Anil Kapoor said no to the movie.
The actor is currently busy promoting his upcoming movie, The Vaccine Story. At the trailer launch, Nana Patekar was asked about how he felt about not being cast in Welcome to the Jungle. His response was equally hilarious and upsetting for the fans.
The actor`s character in Welcome, Uday Shetty, has garnered a separate fan base. His iconic dialogue, witty punchlines, and camaraderie with Majnu Bhai (Anil Kapoor) were the highlights of the movie.
The duo recreated magic once again on the big screen in Welcome Back, the second installment of the comedy franchise. However, Anil Kapoor and the producers had differences on the commercial front. While the actor asked for an exorbitant amount, the makers unfortunately couldn`t move ahead with it.
Instead, they cast the Munna Bhai pair, Arshad Warsi and Sanjay Dutt, to play the iconic roles. Now, Nana Patekar opened up about how he felt about not being a part of Welcome to the Jungle.
When asked about the same at The Vaccine Story`s trailer launch, he said, “I am not a part of it; maybe they think hum bohot puraane ho gaye hai (I am outdated).” He then pointed to Vivek Agnihotri and continued, "He doesn’t think I have become so old, so he cast me in his film. It’s that simple.”
"I feel this is my first and last chance, and utni hi jaan daalni chaahiye usmein (I should do my best). Everybody gets work here; it depends on you if you want to do it or not," he concluded.
On the work front, Nana Patekar will be seen next in The Vaccine Story. The film will release on September 28.
