Telugu Filmmaker Surya Kiran Passes Away Due To Jaundice At 51
Amidst all the 96th Oscar Awards celebrations, we come bearing rather heartbreaking news. Telugu director and Bigg Boss Telugu 4 fame Surya Kiran dies at 51 after suffering from jaundice. He was unwell for quite some time.
For the uninitiated, Surya Kiran was a notable Telugu filmmaker who made some blockbuster movies like Satyam and Raju Bhai, among others. He was admitted to GEM Hospital, Chennai, where he battled with jaundice. He passed away on Monday, March 11, in his Chennai home.
Many prominent South Indian celebrities came together to mourn his death. PRO Suresh announced the shocking news and said, "Director #SuryaKiran has passed away due to jaundice. He directed Telugu films like Satyam, Raju Bhai, and a few others. He was also a former contestant on Biggboss Telugu. Om Shanti."
His first project was Satyam, released in 2003, starring Sumanth and Genelia D`Souza. His directorial debut went on to become a monstrous hit at the box office. Following Satyam, he directed several other films like Hana 51, Brahmastram, Raju Bhai, and Chapter 6, among others.
The last film he worked on was Arasi, headlined by Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. The shooting of the movie is complete and will be released soon. Unfortunately, Surya Kiran won`t be around to see the success of his last project.
Surya was also a part of Bigg Boss Telugu 4. However, it was a short stint for him on the reality television show, as he was evicted in the very first week.
After tying the knot with Kalyani, the filmmaker dabbled with his production house, losing the palatial home, money, and several high-priced assets. This was yet another reason for his divorce.
After his tumultuous marriage, Surya Kiran stayed low-key and lived a private life until he appeared on Bigg Boss 4 Telugu. Condolences from all the Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada industries are pouring in.
