After treating rock enthusiasts with their eclectic fusions in ‘Todi’ and ‘Bhimpalasi’ and exploring modern sounds of Hindustani classical through ‘Jog’ and ‘Bageshri’, contemporary classical duo Honeysuckle Weekends, featuring vocalist Apurva Kulkarni and composer Vaibhav Kulkarni have released their recent work, ‘Malkaun’.

Deploying the use of the classical Indian raga, HW emote Karuna or pathos with an electronic arrangement that is contemporary and modern, yet retaining the sanctity of the raga intact. While the guitars and bass make a fine appearance, the sounds of the harmonium are particularly transportive.

‘Malkaun’ is now streaming on Radio City Freedom.
