Popular Malayalam actress Meena Ganesh has passed away on Thursday. The news of her death came on December 19 as she breathed her last in her hometown, Ottappalam, in Palakkad. According to a report by Manorama News, she was undergoing treatment in a private hospital. According to OTT Play, Meena was undergoing treatment in Kerala when she complained about an increase in her blood pressure levels. They also cited a few reports that claimed the actress suffered a stroke five days ago and was also getting treated for the same. However, Radio City couldn`t verify the claims at the time of reporting. The exact cause of Meena Ganesh`s death is yet to be known. Reportedly, her last rites will take place in Shoranur on Thursday evening. Her husband, AN Ganesh, a popular theatre actor, survives her. They share two children, a son named Manoj Ganesh and a daughter, Sangeetha.

To name a few, she was a part of movies like &lsquo;Mandanmar Londanil,&rsquo; &lsquo;Utsava Melam,&rsquo; &lsquo;Golanthara Vartha,&rsquo; &lsquo;Sakshal Sreeman Chathunni,&rsquo; &lsquo;Kalyana Sougandhikam,&rsquo; &lsquo;Siamese Irattakal,&rsquo; &lsquo;Sreekrishnapurathe Nakshathrathilakkam,&rsquo; and &lsquo;My Dear Karady.&rsquo; Throughout her career, she worked with <a href="/entertainment/news/actor-jayasurya-publically-denies-sexual-harassment-allegations-against-him-13770" target="_blank" rel="noopener">many prominent actors</a> in the Kerala film industry. These included Kalabhavan Mani, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Dileep, Mohanlal, and Mammootty. Her most memorable roles were from two movies, namely &lsquo;The Reporter&rsquo; and &lsquo;Doctor Innocentanu.&rsquo; Her last film was released in 2016. Besides movies, Meena also tried her hand at television and went on to star in a few regional daily soaps like &lsquo;Ramayanam,&rsquo; &lsquo;Mangalyam,&rsquo; &lsquo;Kalyanaveeran,&rsquo; and &lsquo;Minnukettu.&rsquo; Radio City extends its heartfelt condolences to the family. Atlee`s upcoming action drama is all set to hit the theatres on Christmas, December 25. The film is a remake of the popular South Indian blockbuster Theri, which was headlined by Thalapathy Vijay.
