Arijit Singh is the most versatile singer working in the industry today. Time and again, he has proven why he can just lend his voice to any song and automatically fill it up with raw energy. His voice carries a certain zeal, which makes it so engaging to listen.
However, over the years, there has been little experimentation done by music composers when giving a song to Arijit Singh. He has the capability to just sing under any conditions. Some of his songs are just based on similar territory with little to play around with, thereby sounding just the same.
Vishal Bhardwaj is a music composer who has used Arijit Singh in a new milieu in the landscape of his distinct music. In Vishal`s songs, Arijit Singh seems to be reborn and reimagined, his voice becoming more than what it is and lending a new meaning to the entire song.
Here are four underrated Arijit Singh songs that were composed by Vishal Bhardwaj:
1) Shaam Ke Saaye
Vishal Bhardwaj creates magic with this understated song in the 2016 film Talvar. Arijit sings with a certain layered simplicity that goes just fine with the feel demanded by the lyrics and music. It is a song that very well could have been made in the same-old manner; however, lending a different appeal to it, Vishal makes sure to create a new experience.
2) Khul Kabhi Toh
The songs of Haider are a testament to Vishal Bhardwaj`s masterful work in terms of music. Another Arijit Singh track in the film works more as a mood piece, as is made apparent by the way Vishal has used the mere hums of his voice to create a sizzling feel. It is the perfect song for a warm afternoon to listen to with your loved ones.

3) Ye Ishq Hai
Another criminally underlistened song that is so much better than many of Arijit Singh`s other songs. Written with heavy feelings by Gulzar, Arijit Singh is just mesmerizing to listen to as he raises the bar while singing the hookline, `Ye Ishq Hai` at one point. Vishal Bhardwaj has deciphered how he wants to use Arijit`s voice for his music, and it is just magical.
4) Gulon Me Rang Bhare
With huge pressure on his shoulders to sing the classic ghazal made popular by Mehdi Hasan, Arijit Singh doesn`t fail to impress while bringing his own originality to the song. His trademark `pain` in the voice lends itself beautifully to the lyrics that speak of extreme longing for the beloved.
The combination of Vishal and Arijit is something that definitely needs to collaborate more often to give us such soulful, heart-wrenching musical pieces.
