Ranbir Kapoor Starrer Animal Leaves Shah Rukh Khan`s Jawan Behind, Collects 40 Crore On First Monday

Animal box office collection beats Jawan`s collection
Ranbir Kapoor has been topping Bollywood trends after giving a terrific performance in Animal. The movie went on to become one of the biggest box-office openers of 2023. While the movie has garnered mixed reviews, it continues to receive a rave box office collection even on the fourth day of its release.
While the weekend almost tells how any movie has performed, it is the first Monday that decides its life span in theaters. In the case of Ranbir Kapoor`s Animal, it is going to be on the run for a very long time.
The action drama went on to break Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan`s box office record by collecting over 40 crores on its first Monday.

Animal raised around 356 crore gross at the global box office by Sunday. The makers took to Instagram and announced the news of the movie`s weekend collection. The post read, “Box office tsunami! Weekend collection: ₹356 crore worldwide gross.”
What`s interesting is that Animal has consistently registered over 60 crore figures ever since it was released on Friday. Despite all the criticism, the Ranbir Kapoor-Rashmika Mandanna starrer is expected to rule the ticket counters until Shah Rukh Khan`s Dunki releases on December 21.
Along with Animal, Vicky Kaushal`s Sam Bahadur was also released on the same day, thus marking one of the biggest Bollywood clashes. The military drama earned 3.5 crore on Monday, thus bringing its total box office collection to 29.05 crore.

Animal is based on a father-son`s tormented relationship, which has violence at its core. The film received an A certificate from the censor board because of its menacing violence and inappropriate behavior towards women.
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal was released on Friday in five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.

As per the box office numbers, Jawan collected around 30 crores on its first Monday. After collecting 39.9 crore on Monday, Animal has grossed 241 crore in India so far. These are as per early estimates.
